About Me

My name is Amy Baker, and I teach choir and World Arts & Cultures at East Middle School; I have also been the Yearbook Club advisor since 2007. I have been teaching music since 1999 and have been at Oak Creek East since 2004. Originally from Port Washington, I received my bachelor's in music education from UW-Green Bay and my master's in choral education from UW-Milwaukee. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, photography, traveling and flying with my husband (who has his pilot's license), and playing the piano!

Having spent all of my middle school, high school, and college years in both band and choir, I really enjoy giving my students the same opportunities to create music with their peers that I had. My choirs sing a variety of music, and we also spend time learning how to read music, which is an invaluable skill for all musicians to have. One of the best compliments I can receive from former students is when they tell me that they are more self-confident because of their time in my classes!
