Student & Family Handbook

Dear Cedar Hills Families,

On behalf of the staff at Cedar Hills Elementary School, I am delighted to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! We look forward to hearing all about your child’s summer adventures and hope they are as eager as we are to make lots of memories and pursue new and exciting learning experiences this upcoming school year. As your principal, I am committed to serving you, your child, and the community at large, and will work hard with the Cedar Hills team to provide all of our students with the best educational experiences possible.

At Cedar Hills, our vision that “You Belong Here,” truly is at the heart of everything we do. We recognize that in order for students to thrive academically, they first need to feel safe, cared for, and supported. Our dedicated staff works hard to foster learning communities centered on respect, empathy, kindness, and belonging. From this foundation, teachers collaborate to ensure students are challenged in ways that correspond to their individual strengths, needs, interests, and experiences. At Cedar Hills, we strive for continuous improvement. We continuously refine our methods to help elevate students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being.

That said, it truly does “take a village to raise a child.” We believe strongly that cultivating strong partnerships with families is essential to students' growth and development. We encourage your participation in your child’s education and are eager to work with you this year. In addition to reading with your child in the evening and taking advantage of volunteer opportunities, we encourage you to join our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO). Meeting dates and times will be posted on our Class DoJo School Story. We hope to see you there!

My job is to support you and your child, so if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to a year filled with new experiences, engagement, learning, and fun!

Sincerely,

Sarah Sprangers - Principal
