About Me

This is my 5th year as a classroom teacher here at Deerfield Elementary. I started out in Kenosha Unified as a part time Reading Interventionist and taught 5th grade as well. I attended the University of Wisconsin Parkside from 2003-2009, as well as Concordia University for graduate classes from 2011-2013.

I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year, while sharing my passion for learning!

When I am not doing what I love in the classroom, I am doing what I love outside of the classroom, which is spending time with my two children (ages 5 and 3) and my husband. One of our favorite things to do is to go on vacation in northern Wisconsin where we spend time with family while venturing the outdoors. We love to take ATV rides, fish, swim and take walks in the woods.

I have a bit of a musical background as well. I have been playing the violin since the age of nine and was in orchestra throughout college. I played the violin in two weddings, as well. I also enjoy singing! I sang at the Racine County Fair and have tried out for American Idol!

I enjoy reading, organizing things, learning about new teaching practices and getting outside whenever I can.
