Delivery of Services
Individual Counseling
Your school counselor works with students on a one-on-one basis as needed. Students may be referred for individual counseling by their classroom teacher, guardian(s), or themselves.
Small Groups
Occasionally, your school counselor will be coordinating small groups depending on the need. Topics for small groups may include, but are not limited to, family transitions, coping with grief, social skills, study skills, and friendship groups. Parents will be required to sign an informed consent prior to a child's participation in such a group.
Classroom Lessons/SEL (Social Emotional Learning)
Your school counselor teaches each class for each grade level once a week. The purpose of such lessons is to try and prevent problems before they occur. Topics will include bullying prevention, social skills, managing emotions, mindfulness, and career exploration.
The Big Three
