New Announcements:

Any boys that plan to participate in track and field this year, make sure you've turned in all your paperwork and are cleared before the first day of practice on Monday, April 19. Check with Coach Larson if you aren't sure.

2021 Prom Court Ballot: The list of eligible students for the 2021 Junior Prom Court will be posted in the cafeteria this week, 4/13 - 4/16. Eligible Juniors will not have any unexcused absences, out-of-school suspensions, athletic code violations, and no more than 1 failing grade on their 3rd quarter report card. If you feel your name has been left off this list in error, please contact the Athletic/Activities Office by 3:00 pm on Friday, 4/16.

A HUGE shoutout to Oak Creek FBLA as they received several chapter recognitions at the WI State Leadership Conference including largest chapter in the state!, the Gold Seal Chapter Award, all 3 Chapter Challenge awards and their Local Chapter Annual Business Report placed 2nd, qualifying them for the virtual National Leadership Conference this summer!

Several individual members also deserve recognition for their successes in FBLA this year:

  • Kari Kelly - Wisconsin Who’s Who (3rd Place), recipient of the 2021 Lorrain Missingling scholarship, and congratulations on a fantastic, although non-traditional, year on the 2020-2021 WI State Officer team!

  • Soukeyna Dale - Inducted in as a member of the 2021-2022 state office team in the role of Region VII Vice President, endorsed by Wisconsin to run for the national officer position of North Central Vice President, and qualified for nationals by earning 1st place in the Future Business Leader event!

  • Jack Fadness - Oak Creek’s Who’s Who nominee

  • Kaytlyn Dashner - Accounting 2 (5th Place)

  • Josh Rich - Job Interview (5th Place)

  • Taylor Wenig - Journalism (5th Place)

Congratulations to the following Student Council leaders who have been elected as 2021-2022 Regional Officers at the WASC State Conference last night: President - Jack Scharff, Vice President - Shrea Dharanokota, & Secretary - Sarah Jasim! GREAT JOB! Way to lead the metropolitan region of the state!

Ramadan: Students wishing to observe Ramadan during their lunch periods, please see Ms. Voss ahead of time. She is available from 9:30-2:30 in room 153.

Environmental Club will be having its second major planting day! We got a lot done last week but have some more to go. Come to room 147 after school 4/13 to plant some herbs, veggies, and flowers!

GSA will be meeting on Wednesday after school in room 147. We will welcome our new officers and discuss our project for the quarter. We hope to see you there!

There will be a NAHS meeting in 259 at 2:55 on Tuesday 4/13.  All members should plan on attending.  See you there!

The Young Republicans Club will be meeting in room 115 at 2:55pm on Tuesday this week. All are welcome, bring a friend!

Computer Club will be holding a virtual meeting tomorrow (4/13) at 3:15pm. Send any topics, questions, or other discussion ideas to Mr. Bullamore so that they can be added to the agenda. We'll also be confirming what games we'll be playing at our next game session on 4/20.

NHS Drive Thru Ceremony - Monday May 17th from 4:30-6:30pm  Students who were accepted into NHS this year and last year should attend this Ceremony. The Drive Thru Ceremony will take place in the student parking lot by the main entrance. Please stop by to sign the official membership book, receive your NHS certificate and other items. Please remember there is a $25 non-refundable dues fee. Please bring payment to the Drive Thru Induction Ceremony. Cash or check is acceptable (checks can be made out to Oak Creek High School). If you have a schedule conflict and/or cannot make the ceremony, please stop by Room 114 after May 17 to fulfill your responsibilities. Questions? email Ms. Madson or Mrs. Dassow

GIRLS SOCCER- Tryouts for OC girls soccer will take place as follows:

April 26th-28th  Abendshein Park  3pm-5pm

Bus #108 will take students from OCHS to Abendshein Park after school. ALL students must have an UPDATED PHYSICAL turned into the athletic office and a BLUE EMERGENCY contact card turned in to Coach Martinez prior to tryouts! Contact Coach Martinez for any further information

All Juniors and Seniors interested in attending Prom:  You may pick up your informational packets and permission slips in room 249 or the Athletics Office which is located inside the Student Services office.  If you are planning on bringing a guest who does not attend OCHS, you also need to pick up a yellow guest form.  Reservations will be accepted Wednesday (4/14) through Friday (4/16).  You may bring your completed permission slips complete with payment to room 249.  Any questions, see Mr. Flasch.

Boys Lacrosse Tryouts are scheduled for Monday April 12th from 6-9pm on the turf. Our last preseason contact day will be Sunday April 11th from Noon-2pm

Golf Tryouts: Golf tryouts will start Monday, April 19th @ Oak Hills Golf Course @ 3:45 pm and will continue through Wednesday, April 21st @ Oakwood Golf Course. If you will need busing to the course on the 19th, 20th, and 21st please contact Mr. Disch by Friday this week.  

PEER TUTORING IS BACK! If you need help with Science, Math, History, English, Spanish, Business, GYM...etc. There are students here that are eager to help you. Come to peer tutoring in room 165 on Tuesdays and Room 162 on Wednesdays from 2:45 - 3:45.

WE NEED TUTORS:  Do you need service hours and want to help your fellow students….become a peer tutor! Looking for help/tutors in all subjects.  Contact Mr. Raynor, Mr. Swim or Jasmine Phung for information.

Save the date for the HOSA-Spring Blood Drive on Friday, April 23rd from 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM. Anyone at least 16 years old who meets the donor qualifications and height and weight requirements can donate! Sign-ups will start this week during lunch. Blood donations are in high demand due to COVID-19, so every donation will make a difference!

A huge congratulations to both Ladies Knight and Knight Club on their success this last weekend in the ICHSA Great Lakes Semifinals! Knight Club placed 1st in the competition and will be headed to Finals! Only 8 groups in the country get to compete in this event. Also, Knight Club's Jillian Wolf received Outstanding Soloist! Ladies Knight placed 3rd and will be competing in the Wild Card competition this week. The top two Wild Card groups will move onto Finals. Congratulations on your accomplishments! Graduation: The 2021 Graduation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 10:00 am and is being held at American Family Field. An informational letter and ticket order form was mailed to your home in March.  The ticket order form must be completed and returned no later than Friday, April 16th.  If the form is not returned we will assume you will not be attending the ceremony.  If you have not received this information please contact Ms. Stephan @ Oak Creek High School - NGC, p.stephan@ocfsd.org  414-570-3843.

Boys and Girls Volleyball Open Gyms start next Monday 4/12.  These sessions are open to anyone who wishes to attend.  They will take place from 7:30 - 9:30pm in the Main Gym.  Dates are: 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, 5/3, 5/10 (subject to AP Exam testing), 5/17 (subject to AP Exam testing), and 5/24.

Seniors if you did not pick up your cap and gown yet you may do so in the office.  If you did not order one and you need to you will have to do it online at Jostens.com.

We are planning a "Military Signing Day" at the end of May to recognize all of our Seniors that are moving on to serve our country after graduation. If you signed up to join the United States Armed Forces after graduation, please complete the Signing Form by May 15.
