Hello Oak Creek/Franklin Class of 2020 & Families,

Year after year, we partner with Miller Park to create a memorable event for our graduates; we planned to be able to continue our tradition of hosting graduation at Miller Park for the Class of 2020.  With the resumption of Major League Baseball and movement of spring training to home baseball facilities, the Brewers and Miller Park were forced to cancel graduations scheduled at the park.  Further, despite the City of Milwaukee moving to phase four of their reopening plan, gatherings are still limited to 250 people; the Brewers--everyone--really tried to make our event happen.

As we communicated when we announced the rescheduled Miller Park graduation ceremony, our plans are now shifting to providing an in-person, drive-up graduation ceremony, with a virtual feature for our graduates and families.  Staying within health and safety guidelines, given the size of our event, will be challenging, but we are committed to making this a special experience for our students and families.

We have been working on the structure for how this will occur so that families and graduates can individually be on campus.  This graduation event will premiere and occur on our scheduled graduation day, July 18th.  Students, in their regalia, will receive their diplomas and make their way across a stage.  All graduates can also have a formal graduation picture taken by Empire Photography.  Following diploma pick-up on July 18th, the Virtual Ceremony will be aired for all families to watch.  We will share a separate communication with all of the additional event details including a schedule leading up to July 18th.

We are very proud of our graduates, believe they deserve this special moment--for them and their families--and wished so much for our day at Miller Park.  We couldn’t be more disappointed but will do everything we can to make July 18th special and memorable.

Sincerely,

Principal Mongan, Superintendent Unertl, & the Oak Creek/Franklin Board of Education
