OCHS "Re-IgKnight" Plan
OCHS "Re-IgKnight" Plan
OCHS News

Good Afternoon Oak Creek High School students and families,

Beginning July 1st, 2020 the Oak Creek High School Athletic Department will begin implementing our "Re-IgKnight" Plan to allow Oak Creek High School student-athletes the opportunity to participate in athletic activities involving Oak Creek High School coaches and resources.  As many of you know, the WIAA has granted all 2020 spring sports thirty days of contact to be utilized beginning July 1st.  With keeping the safety of our students and coaches at the forefront of our minds, we are ready to take advantage of that option.  Please know that all of these opportunities are 100% voluntary and are not required for a student-athlete to participate in. Students must submit a "Wellness" Form, signed electronically by both the student and guardian, prior to the first day of practice/class in order to participate.

We ask that students and families read the "Re-IgKnight" Plan carefully before deciding to attend any of the opportunities our coaches will be offering starting July 1st.  This plan was reviewed by the City of Oak Creek Health Department and approved for implementation, and also follows the guidelines set forth by the WIAA.  After reading over the plan, we are asking all spring sport athletes to email their respective sport's head coach (see Athletics website for emails) to inform them that they would like to participate in the July contact days.  Our head coaches will then work with those interested students to assign them to the proper practice sessions that will be occurring in July.  Again, please email the head coach of your respective sport to get information on when and where the practice sessions will be held.

For those students that are signed up to participate in the OCHS summer school strength and conditioning class, you will be receiving information directly from Coach Paar regarding your session.  The weight room will NOT be open at any time outside of this class during the month of July.  Students who did not sign up for this course will NOT have access to the weight room during the month of July.

Also, some of our Fall and Winter sport coaches may begin holding open gyms starting July 1st, with restrictions.  If you are a student that plans to participate in a Fall or Winter sport during the 20-21 school year, please email that sport's head varsity coach to receive information on potential open gyms that might be occurring in July.

Finally, at this time, we are still awaiting word from the WIAA and DPI regarding what athletics and activities will look like this Fall.  I know many of you are wishing to hear news as soon as possible, and we certainly will share information that is passed along to our office as soon as it becomes available from the WIAA and DPI.  Thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times and please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Sincerely,

Scott Holler  s.holler@ocfsd.org
