The Oak Creek High School Theater Department presents Rodger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella The Musical! Come see how the efforts from students have come together over a few months to produce a majestic reenactment of this classic fairy tale. Along with producing stunning shows, the OCHS theater program has played a vital role in nurturing creativity, fostering teamwork, and building confidence among students.
Behind the dazzling lights, captivating performances, dedicated students, and directors is our community Performing Arts and Education Center, which allows our students to work with professional-grade equipment and learn skills they can take with them in their post-high school ambitions. Students learn numerous skills such as set and prop building, engineering, marketing, costume construction, sound and lighting technology, hair and makeup techniques, acting, and much more! Technical Director of Cinderella, Alexis Cuda, mentioned she is “most excited to showcase the awesome pumpkin carriage, dress transformations and to see how the audiences will react to the comical moments driven by the whimsical props these students create.”
These inquisitive students learn to communicate effectively, overcome obstacles, and work with each other and adult mentors to ensure the finished production is a symphony of talent, devotion, and ingenuity. A successful theater production is truly a product of teamwork, where actors, directors, designers, and stage managers collaborate to bring the audience's imagination to life.
OCHS Theater has been creating and producing shows for 20+ years. Elliot Donarski, an OCHS junior playing Cinderella, has said, “Being in theater has changed my life for the better. It’s given me the chance to meet many different people and has become a place where I can be my truest self.”
Cinderella is showing on December 8th, 9th, and 10th at the OCPAEC! Get your tickets at OakCreekPAEC.com/tickets.
