Girls on the Run teams at Carollton, Deerfield, Shepard Hills and Cedar Hills participated in the 5K event at American Family Field on Friday. Girls on the Run is a physical activity-based, positive youth development program that uses fun running games and dynamic discussions to teach life skills to girls in third to eighth grade.
During the ten-week program, girls participate in lessons that foster confidence, build peer connections and encourage community service while they prepare for an end-of-season celebratory 5K event.
On Friday, the teams had the opportunity to put their newfound running skills to the test and run a 5K with other girls from all over southeastern Wisconsin.
Congratulations to all our girls! We are so proud of you!
