The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has released its School and District Report Cards for the 2023-2024 school year. The Report Cards are intended to help districts use performance data to target improvement efforts that ensure students are ready for their next educational step – whether it be the next grade level, graduation, college and/or careers.
At the foundation of the report cards are four priority areas. Schools receive a score for each of the four priority areas:
- Student Achievement: students’ level of knowledge and skills attained compared against state academic standards in English language arts (ELA) and mathematics.
- Growth: how rapidly students are gaining knowledge and skills from year to year, focusing on the pace of improvement in students’ performance.
- Targeted Group Outcomes: outcomes for students with the lowest test scores in their school - the Target Group. Outcomes are displayed for achievement, growth, chronic absenteeism, and attendance or graduation rate.
- On Task to Graduation: how successfully students achieve educational milestones that predict later success.
For the 2023-2024 school year, OCFSD is in the EXCEEDS Expectations category with a score of 70.9. In addition, the District celebrates an increase in the achievement score in math, growth score in ELA, and achievement score for Targeted groups.
