Meadowview Raises Nearly $8,500 for the American Heart Association

Meadowview Elementary School is full of heart heroes!

Motivated by physical education teacher Terry Nachtigall, students raised nearly $8,500 for the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge! That is more than double what they raised last year.

Nachtigall is personally connected to the cause, having a father who suffered from heart disease. Hoping to motivate his students to help others, and establish healthy habits, Nachtigall launches the campaign every year, offering small prizes and incentives for extra activity.

"It's an easy sell for me to do it," Nachtigall said. "Meadowview is happy to help in the fight against heart disease and stroke."

Because they raised so much money, the American Heart Association will give back $1,200 to be used for new PE/playground equipment at Meadowview!

This year's donation brings the school's lifetime total to the American Heart Association to $65,443. Way to go, Meadowview!
