The School Board meeting scheduled for the evening of January 28, 2019 is canceled and will be rescheduled.
The Oak Creek-Franklin School District will not be holding classes tomorrow, Monday, January 28th. After-school student and school activities are also canceled. We anticipate that the regularly scheduled School Board meeting Monday evening will be held.
Normally we would not be able to make this decision until after 4 am on the morning of the day under consideration, but in this case, the confidence of the National Weather Service for significant snowfall is very high and has not changed over the past 48 hours. By making the decision at this point, we hope it gives you adequate time to deal with any childcare arrangements you may need to make.
After this storm passes, the next issue we will continue to monitor will be the very cold weather coming behind it. The National Weather Service has not yet issued finalized forecasts on whether these days will be an advisory or a warning. If closing schools becomes a consideration at any time during the rest of the week, we will be sure to inform you as soon as any decisions are made.
If any changes either to our calendar or hours of operation become necessary based on what happens this week, we will inform you of these as soon as possible.
